Logic
For most of my life, I’ve leaned on logic. I’ve looked for the practical route, tried to make sense of things—every decision, every step, even the ones made by those around me. I tried to fit reason into places where reason hadn’t yet arrived. As if understanding could be forced. As if clarity came by calculation. But the soul doesn’t obey logic. The desires in our hearts often seem illogical. They don’t ask for reason. They see the impossible, the unreachable, the wildly impractical and say, “That—that is where we’re going.”
Still, I try to hold onto logic like it’ll give me answers now. Like it ever held the keys to anything divine. But the practical path has never led to the holy. It steadies the mind, sure—but only so the heart doesn’t fall apart. It builds scaffolding, thin and temporary, while my soul is deep in the waters—swimming through dreams, anxiety, wonder, hope, and love.
But the things that matter most—Yahweh’s path, faith, love—they don’t play by “our” rules. They can’t be measured or reasoned with. They unfold slowly. They live in the wild. Maybe even the chaos. A kind of holy wilderness, where you’re forced to choose to either lean on your own understanding or surrender completely to the Lord. They don’t speak in formulas. They speak in whispers. And if you’re quiet enough—still enough—you’ll hear them. Maybe not in words, but in presence. In the way the light breaks through storm clouds. In the way peace finds you when you least deserve it.
Sometimes the logical thing is to move. But your soul stays. Anchored. Not stuck, but rooted. Called to remain, to wrestle, to grow. You can’t rush out of it. You can’t force an escape. You have to breathe here. You have to exist here. Even when it doesn’t make sense. Even when it feels like madness.
Logic can point you in a direction. But your soul? The desires of your heart? It follows something deeper. Someone deeper.
Something real. Someone real.

1. Trusting God Over Human Logic
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6
Logic “never held the keys to anything divine” and how the soul “doesn’t obey logic”. Faith over comprehension.

2. God’s Ways Are Not Our Ways
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”— Isaiah 55:8–9
God’s ways often don’t make sense to us.

3. Waiting in the Wilderness
“Therefore I will allure her; I will lead her into the wilderness and speak tenderly to her.”
— Hosea 2:14
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me…”
— Psalm 23:4
God often draws us into quiet, untamed places—not to punish us, but to speak to us gently, to teach, to root, and to renew.
⸻
4. Peace in the Storm
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
— John 1:5
“He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.”
— Psalm 107:29
Yahweh brings calm and clarity—even in places of chaos.
⸻
5. Walking by Faith, Not Sight
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:7
Your soul being “anchored,” or remaining in a place not because it makes sense but because you were called to.
⸻
6. Being Still and Listening for God
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
— Psalm 46:10
“After the fire came a gentle whisper… and Elijah heard it.”
— 1 Kings 19:12–13
The “whispers”—heard only in quiet, still places. God often doesn’t speak in grand displays, but in subtle movements of the Spirit.
